Wendell Thompson grew up in the small village of Pellville in Hancock County, Kentucky, but has lived in Owensboro Kentucky since 1957.
This year (2015) marks 44 years that he has been involved in photography, including 15 years operating a portrait studio and photography gallery. He also taught black and white darkroom photography at Brescia University in Owensboro.
He is a Life Member of the Kentucky Professional Photographers Association, and served on its Board of Directors for several years. He won many print competition awards, including 2002 Kentucky Photographer of the Year.
Wendell has exhibited in many shows, and has had several one man shows, including Brescia University, Kentucky Wesleyan College, IVY Tech College,and the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art, where he is included in their permanent collection. He has been published in several magazines, and is included in personal collections around the country.
